Shutter Envy
Bringing a whole new meaning to the term gated community, Shigeru Ban is building Metal Shutter Houses in New York’s Chelsea Neighborhood, quickly becoming an area for deeply inspired architectural design.

Ban’s 11-story boutique condominium Metal Shutter Houses are equipped with shutters that can be rolled to your desired level of exterior and interior connectivity. The inspiration was derived from Ban walking the neighborhood and taking notice of the shutters used to cover shops at night.
Leave it to an artist to see something new in the very thing others look at everyday. Ban say’s “I am only interested in making something different,” and Metal Shutter Houses is just another in a long line of successes that drive his philosophy home.
Say hello to Metal Shutter Houses offered at 3.6 Million to 10.5 Million.
